Does PhotoAIA support Photoshop-style layer effects?
Yes — drop and inner shadow, outer and inner glow, satin, colour, gradient and pattern overlay, stroke, and bevel and emboss, each with contours, its own blend mode, and a shared global light angle.
The roster
- Drop Shadow and Inner Shadow, with spread, contour and global light.
- Outer Glow and Inner Glow.
- Satin, Colour Overlay, Gradient Overlay, Pattern Overlay.
- Stroke with inside, centre or outside positioning.
- Bevel & Emboss with style, technique and direction variants, plus texture.
Carrying effects into a PSD
Drop shadow, inner shadow, outer glow, inner glow, colour overlay and stroke are written into PSD files as real, editable Photoshop effects, verified with the independent psd-tools parser. Bevel, Satin, Gradient Overlay and Pattern Overlay have no encoding that could be verified, so those layers have their appearance baked into the pixels instead — nothing is lost visually, and the export report says which happened.
