How do layers work in PhotoAIA?
PhotoAIA supports raster, text, shape, fill, adjustment, group and Smart Object layers, each with opacity, a blend mode, an optional mask, optional clipping and an optional layer-effects stack.
Layer types
- Raster — pixels you can paint on.
- Text — editable type with paragraph controls.
- Shape — vector geometry rendered non-destructively.
- Fill — solid colour, gradient or pattern.
- Adjustment — a colour correction applied to everything beneath.
- Group — a container; can pass through or composite in isolation.
- Smart Object — non-destructive content with optional Smart Filters.
Masks and clipping
A layer mask hides parts of a layer without deleting them; masks can only reduce coverage. A clipping mask confines a layer to the opaque area of the layer below it.
Multi-layer editing
Cmd/Ctrl-click layer rows to select several. Dragging then moves the whole selection as one rigid unit with a single shared delta, snapping by the union of their bounds, and one undo step reverses the whole move.
