Editor › Known Limitations
What does PhotoAIA not do well yet?
PhotoAIA is Public Beta software with a specific, tracked list of known limitations — the same list shown inside the app itself — plus a roadmap of what is planned next.
Known limitations (current version)
- Large multi-layer documents are still being optimised (cold render can be slow)
- PDF/X conformance is not yet certified
- PSD interoperability is incomplete (some layers rasterize)
- Some exports are flattened rather than fully layered
- Offline works after one online visit (app shell is cached); the first visit needs a connection
Roadmap
- Faster large-document rendering (workers / GPU)
- PDF/X-1a / X-3 / X-4 conformance
- Deeper PSD round-trip
- Unified Export Center
Where these come from
Both lists are read directly from the same configuration the in-app Help panel and release notes use, so this page cannot drift out of sync with the product.
Capability-specific limitations
For limitations tied to one specific capability — bit depth, RAW support, TIFF import, PDF/X certification, offline use — see the FAQ, which states each one plainly.
Questions
- Where can I see what PhotoAIA plans to fix next?
- This page and the public feedback repository both track it; the roadmap above is read from the same source the app itself displays.
- Is PhotoAIA finished software?
- No — it is Public Beta. The known limitations above are the specific gaps being tracked, not a claim that everything else is complete.
